Charli’s Emergency Plumbing is a 24-hour emergency plumbing service based in Burnsville. Licensed and insured plumbers.
Charli’s Emergency Plumbing serves nine South Metro cities with a page of their own, plus Burnsville, the rest of Dakota County and Scott County, Bloomington, Richfield, Edina, and Eden Prairie, all on one 24 hour line. For plumbing anywhere in that coverage area, call 952-521-0880, any hour, day or night.
Cities we cover directly
Nine South Metro cities have their own page, each grounded in that city’s own published water and sewer information. Every page names that city’s median home age and who to call if a problem turns out to be the city’s and not yours. The South Metro water emergency directory has the procedure for your city.
- Eagan. After hours, Eagan routes water main and sewer main emergencies through 911. The median Eagan home was built in 1988.
- Lakeville. Lakeville’s water measures 18 grains per gallon of hardness, and the city’s own guidance is to set a softener to 14 to 16 grains to help protect a home’s plumbing from corrosion.
- Shakopee. Water and sewer answer to two separate organizations here, a genuine local wrinkle worth knowing before you pick up the phone.
- Apple Valley. Apple Valley’s City tells residents to call 911 for a water or sewer emergency after hours.
- Savage. Savage publishes one number for water and sewer emergencies, 952-224-3440.
- Prior Lake. Prior Lake’s water and sewer pages publish no after-hours number.
- Rosemount. Rosemount’s Public Works department will help a homeowner coordinate and schedule a contractor to thaw a frozen water service line. If the line re-freezes after it has been thawed once, the homeowner arranges the contractor themselves.
- Farmington. After hours, Farmington’s published procedure is to call 911.
- Inver Grove Heights. Inver Grove Heights publishes a direct Dakota County Dispatch number for after-hours water and sewer emergencies, and part of the city runs on private wells and septic systems instead of city utilities.
Coverage reaches past this list. Call to confirm your address.
The rest of the South Metro
Burnsville is home base. It has no separate page of its own because the home page covers it.
Dakota County reaches well past the nine cities above. Hastings, Mendota Heights, South St. Paul, and West St. Paul are all inside Charli’s coverage area, along with every smaller Dakota County city and township between them. Coverage reaches beyond the county line too: all of Scott County, including Credit River and Spring Lake Township, and, in Hennepin County, Bloomington, Richfield, Edina, and Eden Prairie.
One phone number covers the entire area. Whichever city the call comes from, it reaches the same 24-hour line. That is true across every county line in the coverage area, not just within Dakota County.
If your city is not named above, call 952-521-0880 and ask. The person who answers can tell you plainly whether Charli’s reaches your address, before the conversation goes any further.
Yours. From the house to where your city draws the line.
The city’s. The main, out in the street.
Your pipe, or the city’s?
Not every water problem in the South Metro is a plumbing problem. A main break out in the street, a missing manhole cover, or a broken city hydrant belongs to the city, not to you. The South Metro water emergency directory puts the number to call in one place. Calling the right number first can save a repeat visit if the trouble turns out to be the city’s line rather than yours.
If the problem is inside your own walls, none of that applies. A burst pipe, a dead water heater, a sewer backup that starts on your own side of the property line: call 952-521-0880.
